  • Camera access: the Bite Checker app uses your device camera when you choose camera-based features (such as capturing photos or scanning content). We only access the camera with your device permission.
  • Child usage information: limited information about a child's interaction with the app (such as break completion, screen-time metrics, and reward progress), collected in a manner designed to minimize personal data.
  • Device and usage information: including IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, app version, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: we use cookies and similar tools to operate and improve the Services and to understand how they are used.

10. YouTube API Services and Data Practices

Our application (BiteTime / Bite Checker) utilizes YouTube API Services to provide video search, curated educational/entertainment content, and in-app video playback. By using our Services, you agree to be bound by theYouTube Terms of Serviceand acknowledge that your information is processed in accordance with theGoogle Privacy Policy.

A. Information We Access, Collect, and Store

When you perform searches or interact with video features, we access and temporarily store limited YouTube API data, including:

  • Search keywords and queries entered within the app.
  • Public video metadata (video titles, channel names, video identifiers/IDs, and thumbnail URLs).

We do not collect, access, or store your private YouTube account credentials, Google passwords, private playlists, or personal YouTube viewing history.

B. How We Use and Process YouTube API Data (Internal Use)

We process YouTube API Data strictly for the following functional purposes:

  • To display and play relevant, child-friendly video content during scheduled mealtime and screen-time breaks.
  • To apply strict child-safety content filters (filtering out violence, adult themes, and horror keywords).
  • To cache search queries and corresponding video IDs for up to 24 hours (with automated purging within 30 days) to prevent redundant network calls, reduce latency, and respect YouTube API daily quota limits.

C. How Information is Shared (Internal & External Parties)

  • Internal Parties: Access to backend logs and search caches is strictly restricted to authorized Omved Creations LLC engineers and administrators solely for system maintenance, debugging, and quota monitoring.
  • External Service Providers: We share API data solely with trusted third-party infrastructure vendors (specifically our cloud database and hosting provider, Supabase) under strict data protection agreements to operate the search backend.
  • No Commercial Sharing: We do not sell, rent, license, or share YouTube API Data or user search queries with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing entities.

D. Data Retention, Refresh, and Deletion

  • Data Freshness & Refresh: Active search cache results are refreshed every 24 hours. Stale or untouched search metadata is automatically purged from our database within 30 calendar days in strict adherence to YouTube Developer Policies.
  • User-Requested Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated search history directly within the app settings or by contacting us. User-requested data deletions are processed immediately and completed within 7 calendar days.
  • Access Revocation: You can revoke the application's access to your data at any time via the Google Security Settings page athttps://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice, such as by posting an updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after the changes become effective means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
